Carcharodontosaurus was a gigantic carnivorous dinosaur that lived in Africa around 100 to 93 million years ago during the Cretaceous period. It was Africa's version of the T-Rex, only larger. Measuring over 40 feet in length, it was among the largest predatory dinosaurs that ever lived and is named after the shark genus Carcharodon (from the

Greek karcharo meaning "jagged" or "sharp" and odonto meaning "teeth", and sauros, meaning "lizard"...... "jagged or sharp teeth lizard". These double edged teeth allowed the Carcharodontosaurus to swiftly tear into it's prey.

This Carcharodontosauraus Tooth measures ~ 2-1/4"  x  1-1/4" and comes from Morocco.

This tooth is nicely preserved with nice serration and enamel retention and beautiful coloration.
