A magnificently prepared Asaphus kowalewskii Lawrow 1856 trilobite from the Vilpovitsy quarry in the St. Petersburg region of Russia.
This specimen is highly collectible. Its unusually elongated eye structure allowed it to bury itself in the sand for protection, while still being able to keep a look out. Measuring 6-1/2" x 5-1/2" in its matrix and 3" x 1-5/8" by itself, this magnificent specimen is a MUST HAVE for the serious collector.
Age: Middle Ordovician
