More Information:

Hiddenite is a highly sought-after variety of the mineral Spodumene named for geologist William Earl Hidden. It is related to Kunzite, the other gemstone variety of Spodumene, Hiddenite being distinguished by its unique yellow-green color stemming from Chromium impurities. Hiddenite was first discovered in Alexander County, North Carolina. The mineral is so connected to the surrounding community that soon after its discovery, the town of Hiddenite was founded near the mine.
