RARE! Incredible 12-sided Aquamarine

In stock
Quick Overview

This is by far one of the most exquisite specimens we have had the honor to hold in our shop. It was mined in Pakistan, the source of some of the finest Aquamarine specimens in the world. This specific crystal has 12 well-defined and lustrous sides (facets), exceptional color and clarity, and is in great condition (that's difficult to find considering the large size!). With closer examination, you will be mesmerized by the rainbow inclusions and color play in different lighting. Especially from the top view, as you peer through the glossy termination, the crystal becomes beam of saturated teal-blue. We are excited for this crystal to find its forever home!

More Information

Aquamarine is a light blue variety of beryl with hints of green. The blue color comes from the presence of ferrous iron, and without it or another impurity, beryl would be clear. Other noteworthy types of beryl include emerald, heliodor, and morganite.

The name Aquamarine translates as you might expect, aqua marina meaning "water of the sea" in Latin. It is a highly sought-after mineral that is most often cut and faceted to use as gemstone in jewelry.
