More Information

Dromaeosaurus was a vicious carnivorous dinosaur (Raptor) which primarily hunted the area of what was the Judith River Formation in the State of Montana, USA during the Late Cretaceous period. However, teeth and fossil material has been found in other areas, up into Canada.

The first known Dromaeosaur remains were discovered by paleontologist Barnum Brown in 1914 during an expedition to Red Deer River, Alberta, Canada. That area is now Dinosaur Provincial Park

Dromaeosaur had a mouth filled with large sharp teeth, and it also had a sharp, curved claw on both feet for digging into its prey. The animal is thought to have been three times more powerful than its more well known cousin, Velociraptor, as it was approximately 6 feet tall and solidly build.

Although Dromaeosaur was a hunter, it's thought it was a scavenger as well.
