More Information
The Troodon was one of the first dinosaurs discovered in North America. It was a small, meat eating dinosaur; however, the small serrations found on their teeth are similar to those found on herbivorous reptiles. This suggests that they may have been omnivorous rather than strictly meat-eating. These lived in North America during the late cretaceous period (appx. 77-66 MYO). The name Troodon was given based on the Greek words which mean “wound tooth”. It measured about 3 feet tall, with razor sharp teeth of all different shapes, so that it could eat a variety of food.
