Named after the country in which it was found in 1944 (Brazil), Brazilianite is a yellow-green phosphate mineral that most often grows in crystal clusters. The main source of gem-quality crystals is Minas Gerais, Brazil. The unique color makes this stone a highly sought after mineral for cutting into gemstones for jewelry. Large uncut brazilianite stones or clusters can be found in many museums.
