More Information
Prehnite is a light green, translucent stone that forms in veins of volcanic rock- primarily basalts and granites. Prehnite is named after Colonel Hendrik Von Prehn (1733-1785), who brought Prehnite from S. Africa to Europe. It forms in rounded crystal masses, and commonly forms epimorphs after Anhydrite, Glauberite, and Laumontite.
