Crystalline gold is gold in its purest form, normally found still attached to its host matrix rock. Unlike placer gold, Crystalline Gold has not been weathered by the elements, nor eroded by river water. Crystalline Gold is purchased not for its spot market value but for its rarity. Crystalline Gold is much more valuable than the gold market's price value and at least 2 times that of a gold nugget due to its value as an extremely rare mineral specimen.
After collecting fossils as a hobby for many years growing up, Dave Douglass opened Dave's Down to Earth Rock Shop in 1970 at the age of 20 (with the help of his parents) at 1312 Chicago Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. The shop contained minerals and fossils, mostly self-collected by the Douglass family.
