Seraphinite is gem quality clinochlore of the Chlorite Group. It is a lovely dark-green stone that exhibits chatoyance as you view it from different positions.
It comes from Korshunovskaia, which is a mine situated not far from Baikal Lake in Eastern Siberia, Russia. Its hardness is 2 – 2.5 (Moh’s Scale), density 2.6. This stone is beautiful as a specimen but also makes unique jewelry. Its associated metaphysical energies are believed to activate all chakras and aid in the healing of nerves and brain cells.
