More Information

Tiger Eye is a finely fibrous, opaque variety of quartz. Technically it is a pseudomorph of quartz, and the surface iridescence and golden color results from inclusions of limonite Jasper is a form of Chalcedony, made up of 90% quartz and 10% morganite. It is composed of microscopically fine fibrous crystals, and it normally shows color banding, stripes, whirls, bull's eye and other random patterns due to impurities in the quartz. The different varieties of Jasper are typically named by their pattern and color. Some of the earliest primitive tools, such as axes and arrowheads, were made with Jasper. Its hard and brittle texture made it ideal for durability and ease in shaping. Jasper is used as a gemstone and can be highly polished when used in ornamental work. Metaphysically, Jasper is typically seen as a grounding stone.

Tiger Iron has layers of Tiger Eye, Hematite, and Red Jasper.
